March 2016 - Sewing Pottery Class
Requirements:
- At least 1/4 metre of fabric. Must be width of fabric - not fat quarters.
- Cotton to match for top and bobbin. Verigated cotton is very effective.
- 100/16 machine needle.
- Mat
- Cutter
- Sewing Machine
- Pair of Tweezers
- Usual sewing requirements
If you have the small applique pins (you will only need a couple) - they are easier to use for this project - if not - I have plenty.
I have used Grunt Tracer rope 4mm size. This product is available from Bunnings. It is sold in 30 metre lots. You will need only 8 metres. I have a supply of this rope available at a small cost.

3. measuring tape & Perspex measuring board
4. design book & pen/ pencil
PLUS
- salvaged pieces eg doilies/ hankies/tea towels/traycloths/ tablecloths/ children's memorabilia etc
- textiles to complement the salvage pieces
- buttons/ braid/ric rac/ laces etc You may want to bring an old sheet as a design wall so you can take your project home. I will have some examples to help with the design process and the sky is the limit! See you on the 20th.
If you have any children's memorabilia/ scraps of lace/buttons/ doilies/ hankies/ teatowels that you would like to incorporate into a quilt/ textile piece, this is the course for you.

- 2 x 4" squares cord trim fabric (10 cm)
